# Meldefluss – How to Properly Cancel Your Subscription (Austria & Germany)

###### This ensures that:
* In **Germany**, the **TSE** (technical security unit) is properly deactivated,
* In **Austria**, a **final receipt** is generated and the register is **deregistered with FinanzOnline**,
* No additional costs or compliance issues remain.

||| ⚠️ Important: Do not simply uninstall the app – otherwise the register remains active (in Austria even still registered with FinanzOnline). And check if you have multiple registers – each one must be deactivated separately.

###### Steps to properly cancel
* **Log into Shopify & open the Medlefluss-App**
* Go to **Registers** and choose the register you want to deactivate.
* De-fiscalize the register - Menu: **More → De-fiscalize register**
* **Germany (TSE):** The TSE is properly deactivated and documented.
* **Austria (RKSV):** A **final receipt** is generated and the register is **deregistered with FinanzOnline**.

###### Cancel the subscription (optional)
* Once **all registers are deactivated**, you can optionally cancel your app subscription
* Shopify Admin → **Settings → Apps and Sales Channels → Manage subscriptions → Cancel Meldefluss**

| 👉 This step is not strictly required if de-fiscalization was done correctly – but recommended if you want to stop any additional costs.

###### Key points to remember:
* **Never just uninstall the app!** Otherwise TSE (Germany) or RKSV (Austria) remain active → costs and compliance issues.
* **Always de-fiscalize first** before shutting down a register.
* **Deactivate all registers separately.**
* In **Germany (TSE):** The security unit is properly shut down and logged.
* In **Austria (RKSV):** A final receipt is automatically created and deregistration with FinanzOnline is completed.
