# Where do I find the cash register software & version?

You need to provide two pieces of information for the cash register report:
1. The **name of the cash register software** you are using
2. The **current version number** of this software

###### What do I enter in Shopify POS?
* **Software:** Shopify POS
* **App version:** e.g. 10.2.2 *(as of the time of reporting)*

###### How to find the app version
**The process is the same for iOS and Android:**
1. Open the **Shopify POS app**
2. Tap **“Support”**
3. Select **“View device information”**
4. The **app version** is displayed under “App version,” e.g., 10.2.2

|| 💡 Enter this version number when registering your cash register.

###### Good to know:
* The app version does not need to be **updated regularly**
* You only report the status **at the time of reporting**

###### Do I have to report software updates?
* **No. **You do **not** need to report app updates. A new cash register report is only necessary if you **change your cash register system** (e.g., from Shopify POS to another provider).
