To register with ELSTER in Meldefluss, you will also need the four-digit tax office number of your local tax office. This is used to uniquely identify your registration.

There are several easy ways to find it:

On tax assessment notices or letters from the tax office: The number is usually found at the top of the letterhead or at the bottom of the last page.
In your tax return: If you have already filed a tax return, you will find the number next to your tax number or separately on the form.
In the ELSTER portal: When you log in to www.elster.de, the system automatically displays your responsible tax office, including the number.
