Easily find, download, or print Z-reports in the OpenFiskal app in Shopify.

A Z-report is automatically generated as soon as you close a session in a cash register. Approximately 60 seconds later, the Z-report appears in the OpenFiskal app under “Z-reports.” You can view, download, or print it there—all fully TSE-compliant:

Steps to view Z-reports in Shopify Admin via the Shopify Admin interface:
  • Log in to your Shopify admin area.
  • Go to Apps in the menu and open the OpenFiskal app.
  • Click on Z-reports in the OpenFiskal menu.
  • Here you will find all completed Z-reports sorted by cash register and date.

View Z-report details:

  • Click on an entry in the list to view details.
  • You can view the Z-report directly in your browser.

Access & print Z-reports via the POS UI extension directly in the POS app:
  1. Open the Shopify POS app.
  2. Tap the “Print Z-Reports” tile.
  3. Select the latest report.
  4. Tap “Print Options”.
  5. Select “Z-report Print Preview”.

There you can view the Z-report and print it directly via AirPrint (iOS) or a compatible Android printer.

Note: Printing via the normal receipt printer is not possible, as Shopify currently only supports sales receipts via the receipt printer.

PDF download of Z-reports

You can export Z-reports as PDF files at any time – individually or collectively:

  • Use the filters (e.g., current month, specific cash registers) to narrow down the Z-reports you want.
  • Click on “Collective download” to download all matching Z-reports as PDF files.
  • Or open the Z-report as a PDF.
  • Use the print function of your browser or PDF viewer.
  • AirPrint-enabled printers (iOS/macOS) or normal network printers (Android/Windows) are supported.

Pro tip: This is ideal for transferring all Z-reports for a month to your tax advisor or accounting department, for example.

Important: The POS receipt printer is not supported because Z reports are not considered normal sales receipts. Z-reports are always automatically issued when you close a session in a cash register (approx. 60 seconds later, the Z-report automatically appears in the app and contains all relevant totals and references for the session). Individual Z-reports can of course also be displayed individually and saved as PDF files.

Not installed yet? Here's how to add the POS extension:

To view and print Z-reports directly in the POS app, you must first activate the UI extension “Print Z Reports”:

  1. Open the Shopify Admin.
  2. Go to Point of Sale > Settings.
  3. Click on POS App.
  4. Add the option “Print Z-Reports” under the tiles.

The function will then appear as a tile in the POS app.

Questions or problems?

If you cannot find a Z-report, check that the session was closed correctly. Please also note the approx. 60-second delay after closing. If you have any further problems, our support team will be happy to help.
