How do I find out the model, e.g., iPad or Android tablet?

For cash register reporting, you must specify which device your cash register runs on, e.g., an iPad or Android tablet. The tax office requires you to specify the hardware model on which Shopify POS is used.


What is meant by “model”?


The “model” is the exact device on which you have installed the Shopify POS app, e.g.:

  • iPad (9th generation)
  • iPad Pro 11-inch (2022)
  • iPhone 13 Mini
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A8
  • Sunmi P2 Lite


💡 Important: This refers to the physical device, not the software version or your Shopify plan.


How to find the model


For Apple devices (iPad/iPhone):

  1. Open the “Settings” app
  2. Tap “General” → ‘About’
  3. Under “Model Name”, you will see, for example: iPad (10th generation) or iPhone 13 Mini


⚠️ If only a model number such as “A2604” is listed, you can look it up here.


For Android devices (e.g., Samsung, Sunmi):

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to “About tablet” or “Device information”
  3. There you will find the model name, e.g.: Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 or Sunmi T2s Lite


Good to know
  • You must specify the model for each individual cash register.
  • If you are unsure, check the hardware invoice.
  • Please enter the name as accurately as possible so that the message is correct.
