This ensures that:

In Germany, the TSE (technical security unit) is properly deactivated,
In Austria, a final receipt is generated and the register is deregistered with FinanzOnline,
No additional costs or compliance issues remain.

⚠️ Important: Do not simply uninstall the app – otherwise the register remains active (in Austria even still registered with FinanzOnline). And check if you have multiple registers – each one must be deactivated separately.

Steps to properly cancel

Log into Shopify & open the Medlefluss-App
Go to Registers and choose the register you want to deactivate.
De-fiscalize the register - Menu: More → De-fiscalize register
Germany (TSE): The TSE is properly deactivated and documented.
Austria (RKSV): A final receipt is generated and the register is deregistered with FinanzOnline.

Cancel the subscription (optional)

Once all registers are deactivated, you can optionally cancel your app subscription
Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps and Sales Channels → Manage subscriptions → Cancel Meldefluss

👉 This step is not strictly required if de-fiscalization was done correctly – but recommended if you want to stop any additional costs.

Key points to remember:

Never just uninstall the app! Otherwise TSE (Germany) or RKSV (Austria) remain active → costs and compliance issues.
Always de-fiscalize first before shutting down a register.
Deactivate all registers separately.
In Germany (TSE): The security unit is properly shut down and logged.
In Austria (RKSV): A final receipt is automatically created and deregistration with FinanzOnline is completed.
