Migrating from ready2order to OpenFiskal
Background
When switching from one cash register system to another (in this case: from ready2order to OpenFiskal), the legal requirements of the RKSV (Cash Register Security Regulation) must be observed. It is not possible to transfer the existing fiscalization directly—the old cash register must be properly decommissioned before it can be re-fiscalized with OpenFiskal.
Migration process:
1. Steps in ready2order
- Prepare for decommissioning
- The existing cash register must be decommissioned before it can be put back into operation.
- This is done at the end of the last month. If no final receipt can be generated, the annual receipt (e.g., closing 2025) is also sufficient.
Data export
- Download the data collection logs (DEP).
- These are required for a cash register inspection (7-year retention obligation).
Termination
- Complete the final termination of ready2order.
2. Steps in OpenFiskal
- Install the OpenFiskal app
- Open the OpenFiskal app in the Shopify admin area.
- Start live
- In the app, click on the banner with the text “Go live.”
- Go through the go-live wizard.
- Ensure FON connection
- If not already done: create a cash register web service user in FinanzOnline (FON).
- Enter the access data in OpenFiskal.
- Select cash registers
- Select which cash registers should be fiscalized.
- Fee approval
- Confirm the necessary fees.
- Insert code snippet
- Add the provided code snippets to the Shopify Code Editor (instructions available directly in the app).
Recommendation for the timing of the changeover
The migration should not be carried out during ongoing business operations.
Summary
☑️ Take the cash register in ready2order out of service and back up the DEP
☑️ Install OpenFiskal and go live
☑️ Set up FON web service users (if not already done)
☑️ Select cash registers and add code snippets
☑️ Perform migration in the evening or outside of business hours.
